    Intérêts de recherche

    Dre Marisa Tucci a joint le service de soins intensifs pédiatriques du CHU Sainte-Justine en tant que pédiatre intensiviste en 1996. Pendant sa formation en recherche fondamentale, elle a participé à des projets de recherche visant à caractériser la nature d'un groupe distinct de protéines de stress associées à l’hypoxie ainsi que le facteur de croissance de type insulinique-1 (IGF-I) et l’oxyde nitrique (NO) et leurs rôles dans les lésions pulmonaires et la réparation tissulaire.

    Depuis 2001, les intérêts de recherche du Dre Tucci portent principalement sur la recherche clinique appliquée. Dre Tucci mène diverses études dans le domaine de la médecine transfusionnelle. Elle a dirigé pendant 3 ans le programme «Risques et bénéfices des transfusions chez les enfants avec inflammation systémique traités en SIP» subventionné par le FRSQ, puis a co-dirigé le programme «Risques et bénéfices cliniques des transfusions de produits sanguins en pédiatrie» subventionné par le FRSQ (2008-2011). Elle a développé un programme de recherche et réalisé plusieurs études sur l’effet de la durée d’entreposage des culots globulaires sur la défaillance polyviscérale observée en SIP. Elle est chercheur principal sur un grand essai clinique randomisé multicentrique international financé à la fois par les IRSC au Canada et le National Heart Lung and Blood Institute (NHLBI-NIH) aux États-Unis qui étudie l’effet de la durée d’entreposage chez les enfants en soins intensifs et qui comporte le recrutement de 1538 patients dans 40 sites et plusieurs pays.

    She has written over 65 papers in peer-reviewed journal, 14 chapters, and more than 100 abstracts, posters and free papers. She has given 17 invited lectures, including several outside Canada and has received more than $12 million from academic granting agencies in the last 10 years.
