    Intérêts de recherche

    Mes recherches actuelles sont surtout axées sur le fondement biologique des maladies chroniques dans le domaine de l'épidémiologie génétique. Mon intérêt principal est le rôle des facteurs génétiques et environnementaux dans l'étiopathogenèse des maladies inflammatoires de l'intestin chez l'enfant. Les facteurs environnementaux à l'étude comprennent les antigènes alimentaires ainsi que les agents microbiens (bactéries commensales pathogènes et non pathogènes). J'étudie aussi les facteurs génétiques associés aux enzymes métabolisants xénobiotiques, à la famille des gènes de cytokine et à la protéine NOD2. Je m'intéresse également aux projets de recherche sur l'épidémiologie génétique de l'asthme chez l'enfant et sur le cancer de la prostate chez l'adulte.

    De plus, je collabore au niveau de l'initiation, de la conduite et de l'analyse, à divers projets de recherche clinique portant sur les tests de diagnostic et les méthodes de triage. Je suis impliqué dans la révision systématique et la méta-analyse des études épidémiologiques et cliniques.
