    Sommaire de carrière

    L’objectif principal de ma recherche est l’utilisation d’une approche transdisciplinaire dans le cadre de l’étude des causes et des issues indésirables de la grossesse ainsi que de leurs conséquences à long terme. Pour ce faire, mes recherches se déroulent à la fois au niveau des institutions hospitalières et de la population. Les études en population visent une meilleure compréhension des déterminants affectant les résultats périnataux, tout en portant une attention spéciale aux différences entre les femmes d’origine canadienne et celles des Premières Nations. Les études en institution examinent les déterminants biologiques ainsi que la causalité des résultats néfastes de la grossesse, en plus de leurs conséquences à long terme.

    Les recherches en cours sont :

    • Community Characteristics and Birth Outcomes Among Canadian Aboriginal Women, subventionnée par l’Institut de la santé des Autochtones des Instituts de recherche en santé du Canada (IRSC)
    • Stress oxydatif, croissance fœtale et programmation du syndrome métabolique, subventionnée par l'Institut de la nutrition, du métabolisme et du diabète des IRSC;
    • Nutritional, Environmental, and Genetic Factors in Modulating Oxidative Stress and Outcomes for the Mother (preeclampsia) and Baby (Fetal Growth), subventionnée dans le cadre du thème Pour une grossesse en santé des IRSC. Il s’agit d’une subvention de groupe accordée au projet MIROS (Maternal-Infant Research on Oxidative Stress).
