Groupe de recherche en transfusion sanguine (GRTS)

Présentation de l'unité

Le GRTS regroupe des institutions et des chercheurs multidisciplinaires du Canada et des États-Unis qui s’intéressent particulièrement à la recherche sur les produits sanguins administrés à l’enfant et à l’adulte. Les trois volets de recherche principaux du groupe sont présentement 1) complications transfusionnelles majeures; 2) épidémiologie, recherche évaluative et application des connaissances; 3) stratégies transfusionnelles optimales. Parmi les sujets de recherche sont inclus divers projets de recherche sur l’âge des culots globulaires, les allergies et les réactions transfusionnelles, l’infection avec virus EBV, le seuil transfusionnel optimal, l’innocuité des transfusions, l’épidémiologie de la transfusion, les dimensions anthropologiques de la transfusion et le transfert des connaissances.

Les nombreux projets de recherche du GRTS amélioreront les connaissances sur les produits sanguins et auront un impact positif sur les pratiques transfusionnelles dans le futur.

Ce groupe travaille en lien avec le groupe de recherche clinique en soins intensifs pédiatriques (GRC-SIP).
