Les principaux intérêts de recherche épidémiologique de Helen Trottier concernent le domaine des maladies infectieuses, plus spécialement la dynamique des maladies infectieuses communes de l’enfance, la vaccination et les maladies infectieuses liées au cancer comme le virus du papillome humain (HPV), le virus d’Epstein-Barr (EBV) et autres virus de l’Herpes Humain (HHV). Elle s’intéresse particulière à la transmission périnatale d’agents infectieux, l’impact d’agents infectieux en cours de grossesse et à la transmission infectieuse par l’entremise de produits sanguins. Helen Trottier est titulaire de nombreux fonds de recherche et de bourses salariales des IRSC et du FRQ-Santé.

Sommaire de carrière

Helen Trottier a obtenu un doctorat de l'Université de Montréal (2004) et un postdoctorat de l'Université McGill (2008) en épidémiologie. Elle dirige un important laboratoire de recherche depuis 2008 au Centre hospitalier Universitaire Sainte-Justine. Elle a obtenu plusieurs financements importants et a publié plus d'une centaine d'articles scientifiques. Professeure titulaire au département de Médecine sociale et préventive de l'université de Montréal, elle est responsable de différents programmes, de cours en épidémiologie et de la supervision d'étudiants post-gradués à la faculté de Médecine et à l'ESPUM.
